WHEATON, SR., Daniel R. – of Harrisville, age 77, passed away March 2, 2016 at his residence. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Monday, March 7, 2016 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. Mary Soderholm officiating. Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to United Methodist Church in Harrisville, 217 N. State St., Harrisville, MI 48740.
Dan was born in Flint, MI on April 28, 1938, son of the late Raymond and Mabel (Carsten) Wheaton. He was co-owner of Tyler Jenkins, Inc. in Flint for 18 years and retired from Sorensen Gross Construction in 1999. Dan spent his retirement years doing the things he loved like hunting, fishing, RC airplanes and most recently, wood carving. Dan was a Free Mason and Past Commander of Genesee Valley Commandery Post #15. He was also a member of Harrisville United Methodist Church for 16 years.
Dan is survived by his wife, Patricia; children, Daniel (Alice) Wheaton, Jr., Donald (Sharol) Wheaton, Cynthia (Ron Jurczak) Wheaton and Larry L. (Jennifer) Wheaton; Dan and Pat were also blessed with 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
