JACKELWICZ, John W. “Jack” – of Clio, age 90, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Avalon Hospice. Funeral Mass will be 11 AM Friday, April 20, 2012 at Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church in Clio. Cremation to follow. Final inurnment will be at a later date at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Friends may call at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Thursday from 2-9PM where a vigil service will be held at 7 PM. He will lie in state at the church on Friday from 10 AM until time of mass at 11 AM. Contributions may be made to Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church or the charity of one’s choice.
Jack was born on December 2, 1921 in Detroit to the late John and Mary Jackelwicz. Jack served in the US Army during WW II. He married Margaret Bueche on June 7, 1949 in Chesaning. Jack owned and operated Jack’s TV Sales and Service for many years. He was a member of Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church and the Gordon R. Bennett VFW Post #1452.
Surviving are: wife, Margaret; children, John Jackelwicz of KY, Charlene (Doug) Gunter of Standish, Beth Ann Goldstein of FL, Mary Jo (Dave) Dunsire of OH, Debi (Larry) Fisher of Flushing; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Emily Niemczak of Farmington Hills; nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by: a daughter, Sally Jo; a brother, Stan Jackelwicz; and a sister, Florence Busch.
