SCANNELL, Gordon – of Flint, age 81, passed away February 8, 2017 at Genesys Health Park. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30AM Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, G-5199 Richfield Rd., Flint; Rev. Fr. Roy Horning Celebrant. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison and one hour prior to the Mass on Saturday at the church. A Rosary will be prayed 7 PM Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
Gordon was born in Sterling, MI on June 1, 1935, son of the late John and Gertrude (Gordon) Scannell. He married Shirley Ann Poliskey on June 18, 1955 and she preceded him in death on October 18, 1991. Gordon worked for AC for many years and was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Gordon is survived by his sons, George (Leigh-Anne) Scannell, Matthew Scannell; grandchildren, Kody Scannell and K-Leigh Sezler; brother Edmund (Harriet) Scannell; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Bryan; brothers, Robert “Jim” and Thomas
