Dorothy Agnes Major of Colorado formerly of Flint & Burton, age 93 died Monday February 3 2020 in Evergreen Colorado. Rites of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Tuesday February 11, 2020 at St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church 2333 N. Elms Rd. Flushing, the Very Rev. James Batcha officiating, with entombment to follow at New Calvary Cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 3-7 pm Monday night at the funeral home with a Daughter of Isabella Rosary at 7 pm. Dorothy will lay in state at the church from 9:30 am Tuesday until time of services. Those desiring may make contributions in her memory to the American Parkinson’s Foundation.
Dorothy was born in Flint Michigan on May 26, 1926 the daughter of the late Joseph & Teresa (Kozlowski) Hritz spending most of her life in the Flint- Burton area and her last years in the Golden & Littleton Colorado. She was joined in marriage to John Major on July 1, 1950 at St. Michael Byzantine Church in Flint and he preceded her in death on July 27, 1996. She was a member of St. Michael Altar Guild, Daughters of Isabella Circle, and the Greek Catholic Union. Dorothy had worked as a Executive Secretary.
Surviving is daughters; Bethany St. Clair, Denise and husband Don Orin, sons, Jeffrey Major, and Christopher and wife Yashka Major. She also leaves seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, sister Virginia Makarewicz, and host of extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by brothers; Joseph Hritz Jr., and Donald Hritz. Please share your condolences at www.hansenfuneralhome.net
