THOM, John J. – of Davison, went home to see Jesus on May 25, 2014 at Melody Brookwood Care Home. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Pastor Alan Duce officiating. Burial, with Military Honors will be in Millington Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 PM Wednesday, 10-11 AM Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Richfield Church of the Nazarene.
John was born in Lapeer, MI on September 5, 1928, son of the late Elmer and Elnora (Fenner) Thom. John proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He married Patsy Stull on December 25, 1950 and she preceded him in death June 7, 2013. John was a member of Richfield Church of the Nazarene. He retired from General Motors in 1987 with 40 Years of service. He then worked at Hank Graff for 25 years.
John is survived by his children, Kathy (Keith) Hansen, Steve (Jill) Thom, Philip (Cindy) Thom; grandchildren, Holli (Brian) Lorts, Amy (Brandon) Baxter, Brian Thom, Katelynn (Josh) Diehl, Austin Hollifield; great-grandchildren, Emma, Nicolas and Kathleen Lorts, Lauren Baxter; sister, Shirley (Stam) Karageorge. He was preceded in death by his son, Danny Joe Thom; sister, Arlene (RJ) Gilson.
