DREW, Dorene (Boone) - Age 94, of Flint Township, died Wednesday, June 29, 2016. Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Pastor Bud Welton officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Dorene was born January 6, 1922 in Paragould, AR, the daughter of Melburn Hall and Daisy May (Ford) Boone. She married Dewey "Preston" Drew February 28, 1946 in Arkansas and he preceded her in death June 3, 2006. She had resided in Flint Township since November coming from Durand. She retired from Fisher Guide Coldwater Road after 18 years of service. Dorene was a member of Hopewell General Baptist Church since 1963.
Surviving are: daughter, Sharon and husband Robert Austin of Lennon; son, Greg Drew of Durand; grandchildren, Jamie DeVoe-Barnes (Kevin Barnes) of White Lake, Cary DeVoe of Corunna, Jacqueline and husband Eric Manninen of Minnesota, Michael and wife Nikki Dantzer of Ohio, Kristopher and wife Jessica Drew of Missouri; great grandchildren, Chloe, Danielle, Emily, Haily, Maila, Tarja, and Logan; great-great grandchildren, Zachary, Luke, Jeremy, Jelaina, Jailyn, Jenessa, Jada, Janelle, Kaiden, Kristian, Jana, Jordyn, and Kaleb; sisters, Pauline Sims, Orene Whittington, and Pat and husband Sharon Joe Gatlin; brothers, Lloyd, Floyd, and Cloyce and wife Frances Boone; and several nieces and nephews.
