SHIELDS, Frank M. - Of Burton, age 77, died Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital.
Funeral service will be held 2pm Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Edward Morrison officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Visitation 1-4pm and 6-8pm Friday and 11am Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Frank was born in Flint on July 5, 1940, the son of the late Raymond and Mayme (Disberry) Shields. Frank served in the United States Marines from 1959, to 1963. He married Sue Mott on January 13, 2010. Frank was employed with General Motors for 37 years, retiring in 1999. He loved to play golf, enjoyed bowling and he loved dancing and singing Karaoke.
Surviving are wife, Sue;
sons, Michael and wife Trudy, Scott and wife Darla, Robert W. Rynca Jr, and wife Shannon and Patrick A. and wife Jenny Rynca;
daughter-in-law, Cathy Shields.
grandchildren, Heather (Stephen) Zintsmaster, Zac (Amber) Ousnamer, Megan Lee, Lindsey (Shaun) Tate, Robert W. III, Alyssa, Kirsten, Tyler Green and Dominick Rynca.
great-grandchildren, Alivia, Maci, Easton Tate and Cade Zintsmaster.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Kurt N. Shields in 2000 and Michael J. Rynca in 2003, and sisters Margaret (Maggie) Gilroy, Howard Gilroy, Gaye, Norma, and Shirley Bradford.
