JANCAR, Frances Josephine (Yakubek) – of Davison, MI, age 93, passed away September 25, 2016 at Whispering Pines, Lapeer, MI. A Funeral Liturgy will be held 11 AM Friday, September 30, 2016 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 AM-8 PM Thursday, September 29, 2016 and 10-11 AM Friday, September 30, 2016. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Frances was born in Van Wert, OH on February 22, 1923, daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Mateas) Yakubek. She married John Jancar on September 7, 1939 in Flint, MI and he preceded her in death on December 16, 1971. Frances was a member of the Davison VFW Ladies Auxiliary, a volunteer at the voting polls and at Davison Senior Center. She was a longtime employee of Seely’s Drugstore on Belsay Rd.
Frances is survived by her daughter, Janice (Fred) Burkhardt; son, Steve (Evelyn) Jancar; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and other family members and friends; son-in-law, Charles Monroe. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Ellen Monroe; son, John Jancar and seven siblings.
