REMILLARD, Thomas R. - Age 91, of Fenton, died Thursday, August 30, 2018. Funeral services will be held 6:00 PM Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Deacon Ron Kenney officiating. Burial 9:00 AM Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Kidney Foundation.
Thomas was born September 10, 1926 in Faribault, MN, the son of Napoleon and Verena Marie (Thom) Remillard. He was a WWII Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He married Dorris Evelyn Alpin July 16, 1949 in Angola, IN and she preceded him in death July 2, 2010. He retired from GM Chevrolet Plant#10 after 35 years of service. Thomas was a life member of the Fenton V.F.W. Curtis Wolverton Post #3243. He also was a member of the U.A.W. Local 659. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking.
Surviving are: 5 children, John "Jack" (Pamela) McTaggart of Montrose, Thomas Remillard of Michigan, Robert Remillard of Fenton Township, Matthaw (Jill) Remillard of Fenton, and Patricia (Charles) Salerno of Fenton; 7 grandchildren, James, Brian (Melissa), Chris (Courtney), Michael, Renae (Josh), Eric, and Jessica; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Lucille Meshke of Faribault, MN; brother, Jack (Linda) Remillard of Faribault, MN; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; son, James McTaggart; sister, Peggy Hallet; brother, Donald Remillard. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at DeVita in Fenton. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
