DOBIS, Leopold P. – of Clio, age 95, died on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at Gross Assisted Living of Clio. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11AM on Thursday, January 16, 2020, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church - 11110 Saginaw St. in Mt. Morris. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Wednesday from 1PM until 8PM and at the Church on Thursday from 10AM until the time of Mass at 11AM. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mt. Morris.
Leo was born February 6, 1924 in Mt. Morris, Michigan to the late Leo and Ernestine (Moravick) Dobis. He graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic High School in Mt. Morris. Leo married Marjorie Wisda on October 25, 1947. She preceded him in death on December 2, 1992. Mr. Dobis is a U.S. Navy Veteran. Leo retired from Buick with over 52 years seniority. He was a member of the UAW Local #599, St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mt. Morris, and the Golden Wings Motorcycle Club. Leo traveled with the Golden Wings Motorcycle Club to 49 states. He enjoyed deer hunting and watching races at Auto City Speedway.
Surviving are: Daughters: Linda (Harry) Raymond, and Judy Grant; Son, Fred (Teresa) Dobis; 6 grandchildren: Kimberly (Daniel) Klee, David Grant, Mike (Kim) Dobis, Michelle Pilon, Ryan (Therese) Dobis, and Carrie Wertz; Great grandchildren: Nicklas, Addyson, Joshua, Trevor, Danielle, Lucas, Makayla, Brayden, Brady, Emma, Marcus; Great-great grandson, Easton; Many nieces and nephews; Close friend, Ruby Denkins.
