KELUSH, James J. “Jim” - Of Burton, age 85, died on Monday, April 8, 2013 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2013 at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, 4133 Calkins Road, Flint, Monsignor Ignace Sadek officiating.
Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation 3-8 p.m. Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. An Incensing Service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Kelush will be at the church from 10 a.m. Friday until the time of the Mass.
Jim was born in Flint on January 9, 1928, the son of Nafe and Jamily (Farah) Kelush. On September 7, 1953 he married Geraldine Truax and she preceded him in death on April 22, 2012. Jim owned and operated Kelush’s Lounge for over 50 years. Jim was a veteran of World War II. He belonged to several organizations including; Our Lady OF Lebanon Maronite Church, life member of Knights of Columbus, Council #4090, Elks Lodge BPOE #222, Eagles Fraternal Order Aerie 629 and the American Legion, Post #225
Surviving are daughters, Karen (Dan) Badgley of Clarkston,
Lynette (Dave) Walters of Burton;
grandchildren, Andrew, Kristina, Kevin, Christopher and Adrian;
3 great-grandchildren;
sisters, Helen Azzarello, Mary Jane Hill and Ann Sulzer;
and nieces, nephews and many friends.
James was preceded in death by his wife, parents; and grandson, Jason Walters, and brothers, John, Albert and Lewis and sister, Mable. Memorial contributions may be offered to the Alzheimer's Association, Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church or charity of one's choice.
