CRANEY, Lawrence P. - Of Swartz Creek, age 75, died Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Road, Swartz Creek.
Rev. Father Louis Ekka officiating.
Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church.
Visitation 6-8 Thursday and 1-4pm and 6-8pm Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Friday followed by a service conducted by the Ancient Oder of Hibernians at the funeral home.
Visitation 10am Saturday at church until the time of the Mass.
Lawrence was born in Flint on September 30, 1941, the son of the late James and Mary Craney and was a resident of Flint and Swartz Creek all of his life. On June 10, 1961, he married Sandra Losee and she preceded him in death on August 5, 2014. Lawrence was employed at Fisher 1 and Buick City and retired in 1997 after 35 years of service.
Surviving are children, Larry Craney Jr. (Julia Sova), Beth (Randy) Badour, Tim (Cindy) Craney, Amy Stanley (David Gardner);
Grandchildren, Lacey (Bobby) Faulkner, Jerry (Izabela) Craney, Nick (Jennifer) Badour, Aaron (Erika) Badour, Maggie Badour, Sam Stanley, Max Stanley, Devlin Craney;
Great-grandchildren, Ashlynn and Carter Lawrence Badour and Annabella Craney;
Sister-in-law, Sharon Losee;
Best friend and brother, William Craney and sister, Margaret Verner;
Numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews;
Honorary Craney children, Mike Gould and Missy Bishop.
He was preceded in death by seven of his siblings and son-in-law, Michael Stanley.
