SMITH, RUTH LUCILLE age 94, died Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Home with her family. Funeral Services will be 2:00 P. M. Friday, September 29, 2017 at the Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc, MI. Rev. Ernest Johnston officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. before service. Ruth was born April 9, 1923 in Hill Twp. To parents George and Cecil (Clough) Ranger. She loved spending time with her family, birds, flowers and sailing. Surviving are son Robert (Mary Jane) Smith; daughter - in-laws Charlotte Smith, Paula Smith; son-in-law John Vanovermeer; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband John E. Smith Sr.; sons Kent C. Smith, Richard D. Smith, John E. Smith Jr.; daughters Katherine M. Ranger; Denise Vanovermeer. Contributions may be made to Reverence Hospice of Tawas, MI. The family would like to thank the staff of Reverence Hospice St. Joseph, of Tawas, MI and the staff of the Brown Funeral Home.
