Norbert Charles "Spike" Pearson, a cherished resident of Grand Blanc, MI passed away at age 82, on February 14, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of spirit, laughter, and love that will forever remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and community. A memorial visitation and mass service will be held to honor Spike at St. Mark's Catholic Church - 7296 Gale Rd, Goodrich, Michigan on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 10am.

Spike was born in Flint, Michigan to the late John and Hilary (Bond) Pearson on August 20th, 1942, and raised alongside his (4) brothers, Mike, John, Mark, and Bobby. Spike was a natural athlete, excelling in sports, specifically basketball. He married his high school sweetheart Arlene Mezaros and established a life in Grand Blanc, MI. Spike was a resolute and trusted commercial real estate broker and business advisor that helped influence the revival to the city of Flint and build upon his beloved city of Grand Blanc. In his younger years Spike enjoyed playing and watching golf, spending weekends with family in Charlevoix, religiously attending Sunday mass, and watching his daughter and grandchildren’s athletic events. He found immense joy in watching his grandchildren Taylor, Jacob, and Libbie Gleason learn and grow, academically, athletically, and closely followed milestones of his youngest grandchildren, Charlie and Anthony Kempa.

Spike also really enjoyed engaging and sharing meals with friends at Big Boy and taking family and friends out for lunches at American Legion for “Burger Day,” almost always accompanied by his great friend, James “Jimmy” McColgan III. Spike continued to re-iterate his gratefulness for his friends and families love and care provided during his time of need; with sincere and deep appreciation for his daughter Shawn and spouse Pete, his son Spike Jr and partner Marie, and daughter Aimee, whom all provided enduring love and care.

Spike’s life was a testament of hard work, vigor, resilience, and never-ending love for his family and friends. He will always be known for his vibrant stories, lively spirit, and charitable generosity.

Spike was preceded in death by his beautiful wife Arlene Pearson, brothers John Pearson and Bobby LaFave, and his dearest extended family, Fred and Sharlene Spooner.

Spike is survived by his loving family:

Son Scott Pearson (Spike Jr) and loving partner Marie Stewart, daughter Shawn Gleason and spouse Pete Gleason, grandchildren Taylor and wife Rebecca, Jacob, Libbie Gleason, daughter Aimee Kempa and spouse Mark Kempa, grandchildren Charles and Anthony Kempa, brother Mike and sister-in-law Judy Pearson, and brother Mark and partner Sherry.

Nieces and nephews: Jodi and husband Bob Labrec, Susan and husband Dr. Lindsey Hamilton, John and wife Christine Spooner Gina and husband Jason Siffert.
