TILLEY, Lawrence Duane - Of Fenton, age 81, died Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Argentine Care Center.
Funeral service will be held at 12 noon Thursday, June 13, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Reverend James Offrink officiating.
Cremation will take place following the service.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2019 and 11 a.m. Thursday, June 13, 2019 until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Lawrence was born in Flint, Michigan on October 5, 1937, the son of James and Beulah (Hoard) Tilley.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army.
On June 11, 1966 he married Margaret Veenhuis at Bethany Presbyterian.
He was a member of the UAW, Michigan Harness Horseman Association and The United States Trotting Association.
Mr. Tilley was employed by General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 1987 and was in the Harness Horse Racing business for more than 40 years.
Surviving are his wife, of 53 years, Margaret Ann (Veenhuis) Tilley;
sons, Mark Tilley and Matthew (Candy) Tilley;
daughter, Lisa (Timothy) Graham;
grandchildren, Ashley and Joshua Tilley, Timothy and Dawson Graham;
brother, Thomas Tilley;
numerous nieces, nephews and many beloved friends.
