Hubner, Thora Jane of Flint, age 97, died Friday, April 8, 2016, at her home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 14, 2016, at Rossell Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Thora was born in Flint, Michigan on October 1, 1918, the daughter of James and Elizabeth (Loizell) Evans. She married Roy H. Hubner in Flint, Michigan on December 13, 1941. Roy preceded her in death on December 7, 1980. Thora enjoyed knitting, sewing, and spending time with her family. She would spend the winters in Florida and the summers at her cottage on Lake Charlevoix. Thora shared a very special bond with her twin sister, Norma.
Thora is survived by her children, Nancy and husband Ed Westen, Roy M. and wife Suzanne Hubner; grandchildren, Eric Eves, Brian Eves, Elizabeth Pant, Aaron Hubner, Adam Hubner, Chris Warzecha; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Rebecca Link; eight nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; twin sister, Norma Odette; and sister, Bernadene Noe. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Thora's wonderful caregivers for their compassion and love, Teresa, Carol, Cathy, Shirley, Sheryl, Frieda, Nadene, and Carrie. |
