SEGERSTEDT, Betty Carolyn (Karen) (Allen) - Of Flint, age 73, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 14, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at Genesys Regional Medical Center after a short struggle with cancer.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Chaplain Adam Doyle officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
Visitation 1-3pm and 5-8pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
Betty was born in Hurley, Virginia on October 27, 1943, the daughter of America and George Allen. In 1963, Betty married the love of her life, Peter and spent the last 54 years together. Betty and Peter had 3 beautiful children, together, Timmy, Paul and Karl. Betty received her CNA in 1998 and worked tirelessly with several patients in private settings.
Surviving are husband, Peter;
sons, Paul (Jennifer) and Karl;
granddaughters, Belinda, Kori and Raven;
great-grandson, Wrex;
sisters, Patty and Anna Jean;
3 sisters-in-law and 2 brothers-in-law;
special niece, Tammy;
and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Timmy, one sister and six brothers.
