Joyce Marie Walker, 82, of Ocala, Florida (formerly of Davison), died Tuesday, March 8, 2016.
Joyce was born August 12, 1933 in Lapeer to parents Howard and Ruth (Riley) Taylor. She graduated from Lapeer High School, class of 1952. Joyce married Clarence "Bob" Walker on August 20, 1955 in Lapeer. She worked 20 years at AC Spark Plug in Flint. During her years in Ocala, Joyce retired from J.C. Penney, was very social with her neighbors, loved to travel, play cards and take trips to the casino. Above all, Joyce was a loving mother, wife, sister, aunt and grandmother.
Joyce is survived by her three children: Daniel (Kay) Walker of New Lothrop, Tammy (Mark) Morgan of Davison and Brian (Demaree) Walker of Ocala, FL; four grandchildren; 5 &1/2 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; brother, Ben Taylor of Hadley and her sister, Margie Best of Ocala. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Walker; brothers: Bob, Wesley and Ken Taylor; sister-in-law, Leone Taylor and her parents.
Joyce's children would like to specially thank Joyce's nephew Terry Ostrander and her sister Margie for the loving care and companionship they have extended their mother through the years. They would also like to thank the local hospice nurses in Ocala.
Visitation will be from 4-8PM Friday, March 11, 2016 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. Joyce's funeral will be 11:00AM Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Muir's. Burial will in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Lapeer.
