HALL, Robert Clayton – Of Flint, age 85, died Friday, September 26, 2014 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral service will be held at 1pm Thursday, October 2, 2014
at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor William Jentzen officiating.
Visitation 12pm Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the Genesee County Humane Society, G-3325 S. Dort Hwy, Burton, MI 48529.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Robert was born in Flint on September 15, 1929. He graduated from Flint Central High School, Class of 1947. Robert married Mary Jane Abee on July 11, 1952. He served in the US Army Military Police. He was a member of North Baptist Church for many years. He enjoyed traveling and his four pet dachshunds. He loved music and with his bass voice he sang in school and church choirs and various chorales. Robert was an automobile salesman for 35 years. In his retirement of 20 years, he worked security at Citizens Bank, Ryder/Allied Corporation, Buick Motor Division and GM Truck and Bus and also ushering and taking tickets at IMA Sports Arena.
Surviving are loving wife of 62 years, Mary Jane;
daughter, Rosemary and husband Daniel Emerton of Flint;
son, Robert Clayton, Jr. and wife Rosa Herman of Beaumont, Texas;
granddaughter, Erin and husband Kenneth Dudley of Fenton;
two great-granddaughters, Ava Paige and Olivia Noelle Dudley;
brother, Russell and wife Barbara Hall of Flint;
sister, Mary Lee and husband Courtney Duff of Middletown, Ohio;
several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy (Rice) and father, Henry.
