ALLEN, Luella M. “Sweetie” – of Clio, age 98, died Wednesday, September 24, 2014. Honoring her request, cremation has taken place. There will be a graveside service conducted by Rev. Dr. John D. Bailey at Woodlawn Cemetery, Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 1 PM for family and friends. Contributions may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church.
Luella was born May 24, 1916 in Clio to the late Almon and Edith (MacGillivray) Hewitt. Luella married Max Allen on November 24, 1937 and they enjoyed a long and joyous union. He preceded her in death on February 15, 1989. She retired from GMPD as an Administrative Assistant.
She is survived by: her sister, Marjorie Schoeppach; sisters-in-law, Doris Hewitt and Beverly Hewitt; numerous loving and caring nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also preceded in death by: brothers, Russell, Ralph, Gordon and Donald; sisters, Thelma and Edna; sisters-in-law, Laurine and Erma; brothers-in-law, Ted, Ralph and Orval.
