Randall Warren Dellinger, age 60 of Flint, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 in Greenville, South Carolina. He was born on March 6, 1959 in Morganton, North Carolina to Doris Jean Nelson and Joe Anderson Dellinger.
The family relocated to Flint where Randall attended William's elementary, Lowell junior high school and Central High school where he obtained his GED in 1976. At Lowell, Randall played football and basketball and had won city championships with his teams. At the age of 18, Randall began work for General Motors in Flint and variously worked for GM Truck and Bus in Flint and the Pontiac Assembly plant. Randall retired from GM in 1994.
Randall loved computer programming and building computers, car mechanics, electronics and pottery. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and hiking with his family in Lovells, Michigan and was happiest with his family there. Randall moved to nearby Kalkaska, Michigan and lived there from 1994 to 2000. In 2009 he returned to Flint where he lived with his daughter Martha and grandson, Anderson, until the months preceding his death where he briefly stayed with his daughter Kathryn Browning, in North Georgia enjoying time at Amicalola State Falls with his son in law, Lester Browning and two grandsons, Alaric and Gunnar.
Randall was best known for his generosity, quick wit and sense of humor, love and devotion to his family and his willingness to help others. He was an incredibly sweet and generous grandfather.
He was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia in 2010, a rare disease from which he never recovered.
Randall is survived by his two daughters Kathryn Browning and Martha Dellinger and three grandsons, Alaric and Gunnar Browning and Anderson Nass. He is also survived by his mother, Doris Dellinger, brothers Steve and Pete Dellinger, sisters Doris Elizabeth Dellinger, Debra Valdes and Cynthia Gentilini and his many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Dellinger, brother Jim Dellinger and wife Phyllis McDonald.
Arrangements have been made with Brown Funeral Home in Grand Blanc, Michigan. A visitation will be held beginning at 10 A.M. with a Memorial service starting Noon on Friday, March 6th, 2020.
