PEACE, Vera Jo - Of Foley, Alabama, and Kalkaska, Michigan formerly of Grand Blanc, age 85, died Monday, December 9, 2019 at Mission Point of Holly.
Funeral service will be held 11am Friday, December 13, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Craig Leavitt officiating.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Visitation 12-3 pm and 5-8 pm Thursday and 9 am Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Vera was born in Flint on August 21, 1934, the daughter of the late Leslie and Mary Louise (Shelby) Glasco. In April, 1967, she married Donald Peace in Indiana. She retired from AC Spark Plug in the mid 1970’s. After retirement, she and Don were business owners of several automotive service centers in Alabama. After selling the businesses they moved even farther South to be closer to the ocean, which Vera loved. They maintained a home in Northern Michigan where they spent their summers. Vera loved to celebrate Christmas with her family and friends. She welcomed everyone into her home. Vera was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed by everyone.
Surviving are husband of 52 years, Donald;
Children, Michael P. (Linda) Ebel, Lee Ann Powell, Cherrie L. Beard, George K. Ebel, Terri (Randy) Vanhurk;
And 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
