Barbara Jo Caruth, age 68, of Clio, died peacefully on October 12, 2018, at Genesys Regional Medical Center. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at Bethany United Methodist Church, 353 E. Vienna St, Clio. Rev. Cathi Huvaere, will officiate with burial to follow at Thetford Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 W. Hill Road, Flint, on Tuesday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. On Wednesday morning, Barbara will be taken to the church to lie in state from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to Bethany United Methodist Church or Children's Leukemia Foundation of Michigan. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and the church.
Barb was born February 21, 1950, in Traverse City, Michigan, the daughter of the late Evart and Helen (Polhamus) Crouch. She graduated from Clio High School and Beauty School in 1968. She opened Silhouette Styling Salon in June of 1976 with her good friend, Linda Kittle. She became the sole owner in 1985. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her boyfriend, Larry Krupp. They enjoyed dancing, camping, going for walks and traveling. Barb had many hobbies which included sewing, needlework, cake decorating, and baking. She also loved spending time with her family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory are two sons: Jason and wife, Tricia Caruth, Arron Caruth and fiancée, Jessica Salgado and their father, Robert Caruth; grandchildren: Haylee and Austin Caruth; boyfriend, Larry Krupp ; siblings: Roberta and husband, Steve Grill, Daniel and wife, Donna Crouch, Beverly Boots and partner, Fred, and Michael and wife, Lee Crouch; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Evart Dale.
