SWEENEY, Marguerite Ann – of Davison, age 89, passed away August 25, 2015 at The Regency of Grand Blanc. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 10:30 AM Friday, August 28, 2015 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Monsignor Jerry Vincke officiating. Burial will be in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:30AM until the time of service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of one’s choice.
Marguerite was born in Flint, MI on January 13, 1926, daughter of the late Frederick and Helena (George) Wagner. She married Robert J. Sweeney on June 9, 1951 and he preceded her in death on March 10, 1976. Marguerite was employed as a secretary at Smith-Bridgman’s of Flint and was later employed as a senior legal secretary for the prominent law firm of Brownell, Gault and Andrews in Flint, MI. She was a big part of and very involved with her family. Marguerite especially loved living in Davison.
Marguerite is survived by her children, Kathleen (Dan) Sweeney-McKibbin, Stephen (Sharolynn) Sweeney; grandchildren, Lisa (Le) Willets, Matthew (Jena) McKibbin, Michael McKibbin, Carrie (Anthony) Sweeney-Schaaf, Tracy Sweeney (fiancé Brian Gifford), Robert Brian Sweeney; great-grandchildren, Jaiden Hart, Peyton Hart, Zander Schaaf, Laila McKibbin, Mason Willets, Audrey Willets; sister, Joanne (Carl) Jordan; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Sweeney; infant baby daughter, Kathleen; mother and father, Frederick and Helena Wagner; brothers Franz Wagner, Gerald Wagner; sister, Mary Wagner; infant granddaughter, Amy Sweeney. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the wonderful caregivers (too many angels to list) at Regency of Grand Blanc for their love, wonderful care, friendship and support of Marguerite over the last 2 years. Also Dr. EJ Daros and Dr. Tony Daros for your compassionate care and Heartland Hospice for their care during her final days. Finally, a heartfelt thanks to special angels Reggie and Kathy R for all of your love.
