Gail Lee Tyrrell, a longtime resident of Lapeer, passed away on March 30, 2015 at the age of 82. He was born on May 31, 1932 in Lakeville, MI, the son to Henry and Hazel Tyrrell. After graduating from Oxford High School, Gail enlisted into the Navy and loyally served his country during the Korean War. He was a member of the Lapeer Odd Fellows and was an employee at Lapeer County Road Commission for 24 years. Gail loved to spend time with his family and enjoyed camping in East Tawas.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Linda Louise Tyrrell; son Hank (Lucinda) Tyrrell of Lapeer; daughter GayLynn Crampton of Lapeer; grandchildren Melinda (Eric) Patrick, Krystal Milton, Thomas (Shannon) Tyrrell, Carl (Chelsie) Wise, Amber Wise, David (Sandra) Tyrrell; great grandchildren Zoe, Kayleigh, Lucas, Paige, Christena, Reegan, Jerae, Joelle, Kiana, Anthony, Kadence, Dakota, and Jazyah.
Gail was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Hazel Tyrrell; beloved baby daughter Leigh Ann Tyrrell and his brother Bernard Tyrrell.
Friends may visit on Wednesday, April 1st from 1-8 p.m. at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors Capstick Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, at 11:00 a.m. at Lynch & Sons. Pastor Dan Burger will be officiating. Burial and military honors will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Suncrest Auxiliary.
