James Charles Berriman “The Coolest Guy in the Room”, of Flushing, passed away on December 19, 2019 at the age of 80.
Beloved husband of the late Susanne; adored father of Steven (Becky) Berriman, Lisa (the late Rick) Kiley, Joe (Jill) Berriman, and Christine (Mike) McAlister; proud grandpa of Tonya Tenbusch, James (Julie) McAlister, Jennifer (Jason) Kage, Andrew (Mary) Berriman, Sam Berriman, Jacob Luckett, and Samantha Luckett; great-grandfather of six; dear brother of Gerald (Jean) Berriman and Morris (Peggy) Berriman; brother-in-law of Martha (Dale) Huber, Brenda Kalush, and Joe (Jean) Kalush.
Jim was born on September 28, 1939 in Flint to the late Ernest and Geraldine Berriman. He was an avid bowler, was a member of the 700 Club with numerous 300 games, and was member of the Greater Flint Bowling Hall of Fame. James also supported the Polish Legion, the American Legion, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Loyal Order of Moose. He was a friend to everyone and loved to make people laugh, and was known as the “King of One Liners”. Jim ran several marathons, including Detroit and Las Vegas, participated in long distance bike rides including the TOSRV and DALMAC. The entire family spent many weekends over the Midwest racing motorcycles. Most everything Jim did was for and with his family, including a trip to the Machine Shop to watch his oldest grandson’s band
The family will greet friends for a memorial visitation from 1:00pm until 8:00pm on Thursday, December 26 at the Reigle Funeral Home, 5501 W. Pierson Rd., Flushing. Memorial services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, December 27 at the above location. Inurnment at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
