CILLS, Ludine “Lou” - Of Burton, age 72, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 29, 2019 surrounded by family.
The Memorial service will be held at 1pm, Saturday, September 7, 2019 at New Creation Church of God, 3472 Lennon Road, Flint, where Reverend Dr. Herbert Banks is the pastor and will serve as the officiant. Cremation has taken place.
Lou was born on January 20, 1947, in St. Thomas Virgin Islands to the son of Nathanial and Bianca Cills. On March 30, 1984, he married Barbara Thompson in Toledo, Ohio. He was blessed with three beautiful daughters.
Lou enjoyed traveling (especially to Carnival in St. Thomas), spearheading local political campaigns, introducing children to computer technology, and persuading anyone who would listen that red snapper and fresh ground peanut butter are life changing! He is a veteran that served in the Air Force. He was also a hard working man who retired from General Motors.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Barbara Cills; three daughters, Angela Burrage (of Cahokia, IL), Jenel (of Columbia, SC) and Porsha Cills (Washington, DC/Los Angeles, CA); three grandchildren, Jacob, Jeremiah, and Danielle (of Columbia, SC); his mother, Bianca Cills (of St. Thomas, VI); his sister Ethy Braizer (of St. Thomas, VI); his two brothers Dennis (Lelia) and Rufus (Claudette) Cills (of New York); and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Nathanial Cills and sister Lillian Joseph.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. J Bhagat and staff; Caregivers: Brenda, Ann, and Tyler of Right at Home and the McLaren Hospice Staff.
