WILLIAMSON, Doyle. – of Clio, age 86, died Saturday, April 13, 2019 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 1PM Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Ed Emmerling officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4PM until 8PM and Wednesday from 12PM until the time of service at 1PM. Burial will be at 10:30AM Thursday, April 18, 2019 in Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly with full military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County.
Doyle was born December 29, 1932 in Rector, Arkansas to the late Paul and Irene (Wesley) Williamson. He graduated from Dye High School in 1953. Doyle married Carol Y. Sawade on April 26, 1957. Mr. Williamson proudly served his country in the U.S Marine Corps during the Korean War. He retired from General Motors – Flint Metal Fabrication as a crane operator in 1991 with 37 years seniority. Doyle was a member of the UAW Local #659 and the Gordon R. Bennett VFW Post #1452 of Clio. He enjoyed spending time outside, gardening, hunting and fishing. He also loved his dog, Daisy.
Survivng are: Loving wife of 61 years, Carol Williamson; Daughters: Diane Williamson, and Yvonne (Rick) Robison; Son, Daniel (Deborah) Williamson; 8 grandchildren: Shelia (Howard) Teeple, Michael (Angie) Williamson, Sarah (Justin) Nieto, Anthony (Krystal) Leach, Matthew (Ashley) Williamson, Jack (Donyelle) Robison, Tammy (Jeremy) Kassing, and Angie (Brandon) Lethbridge; 19 great grandchildren; Furry companion, Daisy. Many other loving family members and dear friends. Doyle was also preceded in death by his son, David Williamson in 2010; Brothers: Max Williamson, and Rex Williamson.
