BAKER, Lee Howard - Of Flushing, age 90, went to be with the Lord, Friday, September 12, 2014 at Woodhaven Assisted Living in Flint.
Funeral service will be held 11am Wednesday, September 17, 2014
at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor DeWeerd Smith officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation 2-8pm Tuesday and 10am Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Lee was born in Flint on May 29, 1924 and his family later moved to a farm in the Flushing area. On November 22, 1968 he married Dorothy Pennington. Lee drilled water wells for over 35 years. He greatly enjoyed woodworking, making numerous furniture items as Christmas gifts for the family. He and Dorothy greatly enjoyed their home in Flushing and hosted many family gatherings and he was an excellent cook. They also greatly enjoyed over 35 winters at their home in Ft. Myers Florida. His faith in Christ was strong and very important to him and he lived it daily.
Lee leaves son, Ted (Evelyn) Baker;
stepdaughter, Pat (Stan) Isham;
daughter-in-law, Pam Baker;
grandchildren, Ted E. Baker, Grant Baker, Crystal Newman, Brianne Baker, Shauna Baker;
step-grandchildren, Dave (Cindy) Isham, Brad (Trisha) Isham, Lori (Marshall) Ultch, Tim (Leanne) Pennington, Michelle (Howie) Lucia, Melissa Pennington and fiancé Dave Marsh;
and many great-grandchildren.
The family wants to offer thanks to Woodhaven Assisted Living, Homestead Home Care and McLaren Hospice for their wonderful support and care for Lee.
Lee was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Baker,
son, Roy Baker, parents, Grant Baker and Claudia (Hardy) Baker, brother, William Baker and wife Margaret, stepson, Dick Pennington; and great granddaughter, Maleeyah Pennington.
