JOHNSON, Alvin John - age 88, of Grand Blanc, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 12 PM Wednesday October 30, 2019 at Faith Lutheran Church, 12534 Holly Rd., Grand Blanc. Visitation will be 10 AM until the time of service Wednesday at the church. Private family interment to follow luncheon in Flint Memorial Park. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Those desiring may make contributions to Faith Lutheran Church.

Alvin was born February 17, 1931 in Flint, the son of Henry Louis and Effie H. (Swanson) Johnson. He attended Flint Central High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. Alvin married Alice Attenberger on August 21, 1954. He was a Pipefitter for Consumers Energy retiring in 1989. Alvin was a long time member of Faith Lutheran Church of Grand Blanc and served as Trustee. He enjoyed woodworking, creating many lasting works of art. Alvin was such a generous soul and so kind hearted.

Surviving are: his sister, Elaine Dolan; nieces and nephews, Karen (Ken) Kautz, David (Michele) Johnson, Sally (Dale) Engel; grandpa "2" to five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and special nephew, Glen Dolan.

Alvin was preceded in death by: his wife, Alice; his twin brother, Melvin on October 3, 2019; three brothers; one sister; and longtime companion, Nancy Kimber. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
