Charlene Taylor-Kindle, born Charlene Baker on July 14, 1950, in Perks, Illinois, peacefully passed away on April 28, 2024, in Holly, Michigan. She was a devoted educator of Flint Public Schools for over 20 years. She was dedicated to shaping young minds and had a profound impact on her students and colleagues. In her younger years, Charlene was an activist for human and women’s rights. She was a strong advocate for equality and justice. Charlene’s dedication to her community and causes she believed in was truly inspiring. Charlene’s love for travel and cooking was evident to all who knew her. She even shared her passion for cooking by writing and publishing a cookbook. She found joy in exploring new places and flavors, leaving a lasting impact on those around her. She will be deeply missed by her beloved husband Thomas Kindle, her children Monica Smith, Calvin McCaskill (Tiffany), Daryl McC skill, Robin Taylor (Olivia), her grandchildren Brittany, Ashley, Cameron, Destiny, Donovan, Karmen, Olivia, Jayce, Takira, Tavia, Uriah and Elijah; Great-grandchild Cassidy Robinson, and extended close family members and friends. Charlene is preceded in death by her father Willie Baker, mother Geraldine Baker, and brothers Darrell, Ronald, and Willie Dean Baker. Charlene Taylor-Kindle’s legacy of
love, activism, and culinary creativity will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her. Family hour 10:00AM Friday, May 17, 2024 at Cathedral of Faith, 6031 Dupont St. Flint, MI with funeral commencing immediately at 11:00AM. Bishop Chris Martin, officiating. Interment immediately following at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd. Holly, MI.
