BOURGEOIS, Irene P. – Of Flint, age 83, died Sunday, January 7, 2018 at McLaren-Flint.
Visitation 10 a.m. and Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 p.m. Friday, January 12, 2018 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley Street, Flint, Father Thomas Firestone officiating.
Irene was born in Maumee, Ohio on March 16, 1934, and lived in Holland Europe for 4 years, while her husband was in the Air Force and made her home in Michigan 50 years ago.
She was a devout Catholic at St. John Vianney.
Irene owned a restaurant in Tawas City and had worked with her son in the cleaning business for 40 years.
She loved traveling.
Surviving are children, Dennis Bourgeois and Theresa Bourgeois, both of Flint,
Margaret Powell of Atlanta and Marie Lucia of Cleveland;
grandchildren, Scarlett Zamora and Sherri Bembeneck, both of Traverse City,
Kristy Fontaine of Punta Gorda, FL,
Michelle Barley, Daniel Powell and Michael Powell, all of Atlanta;
great-grandchildren, Alexis Zamora, Aiden Bembeneck, Nadia Bembeneck, all of Traverse City and Aubrey Fontaine of Punta Gorda, FL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph D. Bourgeois, in 1982.
