LOUGHEED, REV. JAMES D. age 81, went home to be with his Lord & Savior, Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the Regency Nursing Home of Grand Blanc. Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the Flint Baptist Temple, 1430 E. Bristol Rd., Burton, MI. Pastor Dallas Berry officiating. Interment at Crestwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc, MI. James was born in Angola, Indiana, April 28, 1934 to parents Rev. Donald and Helen (Berry) Lougheed. He married his childhood sweetheart Adella McBride in 1954. Surviving are wife Adella of 61 years; children Douglas Lougheed, Donald (Debbie) Lougheed, Daniel (Mary) Lougheed, Devon (Amy) Lougheed, Dayna (Edward) LeGrow; 25 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters Margaret (James) Wilson, Jean Nye, Margie (Richard) Maggert; 4 sister-in-law's Delores Conroy, Gail (Jerry) McNew, Susie (Henry) Hagenstein, Carolynn McBride, Sheila McBride; many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. James and his father founded the Flint Baptist Temple in 1952. He attended Baptist Bible Seminary in Fort Worth and Bryan College in Dayton, TN. He pastored Bible Baptist Church from 1956 to 1960, returning to Flint Baptist Temple in 1960 as assistant Pastor and becoming Sr. Pastor in 1969 for 35 years, retiring in 2004. He was very devoted to his church and had a big heart for Missions. James was an avid fisherman, both for fish and souls. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and they loved their Papa. James was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws Glenn and Olive McBride; sisters Jeanie, Dawn, Donna; brother David; brother-in-law's Duane McBride, James Conroy, Kent McBride; nephew Jeff McBride. The family wishes to thank the staff of Regency Nursing Home for their love and care. Contributions may be made to the Flint Baptist Temple.
