RAK, William J. – of Davison, age 87 , passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Genesys Health Park . A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. Jason Crum officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Monday and 12-1 PM Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
William was born in Flint, MI on June 24, 1931, son of the late William M. and Gertrude (Maxwell) Rak. He graduated from Flint Central High in 1950. William was drafted on April 2, 1952 and served 2 years with the US Army. He hired in at General Motors on June 13, 1950 and retired in 1988 after 38 years of service. William married Donella Lou Becker on July 11, 1959 and she preceded him in death on June 17, 2008. William was fond of fishing and sports. He enjoyed watching his son and grandson play football and soccer. He also enjoyed many years of family fun at his cottage at Houghton Lake. William loved to travel with his wife and best friend, his dog, Tiger.
William is survived by his sons, Michael (Tonya) Rak, Scott (Michelle Palacios) Rak; grandchildren, Maxwell Rak, , Courtney Henry, Annalisa (Christian) King Przybysz and Joseph Mier; great-granddaughter, Olivia Henry; brother, Herbert Rak. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Derick Rak; sister, Wanda (Thomas) Yancho; brother, John (Shirley) Rak.
