SPOHN, Daniel M., Jr. - Age 89, of Swartz Creek, died April 17, 2020. Cremation has taken place. Committal service and Veteran's honors will take place at a later date at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI. Daniel was born July 6, 1930 in Flint, the son of Daniel Sr. and Rose Spohn. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. Daniel was a Featherweight Golden Gloves Champion 1948-1950. In 1951 he married Paulina Ann "Patty Ann" Torbet. Daniel retired from General Motors as a Millwright, where he also taught Skilled Trades Safety Training. He studied jewelry making and landscaping in his spare time. Daniel ran the Crim Race four times while in his 80's and one of those four generations ran together with his son & daughter-in-law, grandsons and great-grandchildren. Surviving are: wife, Patty Ann Spohn; son, Craig Spohn and wife, Sherry of Swartz Creek; two grandsons, Chad Spohn and wife, Rae Ann, Josh Spohn; four grandchildren, Gage and Halley Spohn and Alex and Sophie Spohn; siblings, Delores, Ethel, Thelma and Chuck.
