Flint, Lora L. Of Flushing, age 54, LIVED her life until Sunday, November 1, 2020. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 12-8 p.m. Friday at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Saturday at Flushing Church of the Nazarene until the time of the service at 11 a.m. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Early Childhood Center in Flushing and/or to McLaren Medical Center Neuroscience Services in her name. Donations will also be accepted towards a 529 college fund to support Elijah Flint, her youngest son.
Lora was born in Flint, Michigan on April 10, 1966, the daughter of Jesse and Odelia (Caballero) Gutierrez. Her adventures in life brought her to her husband. She married Gregory Flint on August 8, 1992. He preceded her in death on March 28, 2011. Lora and Greg had three children together. After Greg passed away, she and a group of friends created a well known race in his honor. The very recognized Run Like a Wildebeest Race held in the community that she loved for so long – Flushing. This race raised a great deal of money which was donated back into the community and specifically the track team at the high school.
Lora worked at McLaren-Flint for 15 years. Taking an early retirement she followed her other passion; working with children. As a Paraprofessional working at the Flushing ECC, she worked and loved special needs kids. Lora enjoyed taking pictures, traveling, gardening, running, music and going to concerts. Lora had a wonderful way of bringing people together and to say she, lived life to the fullest, is only a pale sense of the pure essence of her philosophy. Her love for others, the joy in her heart and the smile she always greeted everyone, was a lasting impression that many carry with them. Her giving spirit lived on even after her passing because of her commitment to The Gift of Life organization.
She is survived by her spouse, Ted Valley; children, Josh Flint and girlfriend, Mackenzie Dewitt, Talia and husband Zach Tomasoski, Elijah Flint, Ted, II and wife Acacia Valley, Amanda and husband Max Wasmiller; she was a loving Abeula to Madison, Anna and Mary; and is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. |
