Emma Elizabeth Molnar
Age 93 of Owosso passed away Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Oliver Woods Retirement Village.
Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at St. Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Thom Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Monday from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a rosary prayed at 7:00pm.
Emma was born November 2, 1921 in Owosso, the daughter of Joseph and Magdeline (Dvonch) Minarik.
She graduated from Owosso High School, class of 1939 and was a faithful member of St. Paul Catholic Church.
Emma looked forward to watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune and she enjoyed crossword puzzles, cooking and Czech baking. Emma was known and loved as grandma Emma while working as a receptionist at Marilyn's Dance Studio for more than 27 years.
She married Rudolph Molnar in Owosso on March 5, 1943; he predeceased her on June 6, 1978
Emma spent many years working as a secretary at Redmonds and later at Corunna Hills Golf Course.
She is survived by her son Gerald (Sandra) Molnar; daughters Marilyn (Charles) Jenkinson and Cindy (Patrick) Dwyer; grandchildren Scott and Brent Molnar, Tammy (Trent) Rappuhn, Greg (Stacey) Jenkinson, Kristy (Stephen) Schmidtfranz, Kaitlyn Dwyer and Bryan Dwyer; 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
Emma was predeceased by her husband Rudolph J. Molnar; brothers Joseph and Steve Minarik.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Paul Catholic Church, Grace Hospice or Oliver Woods Retirement Village building 4.
