Torrey, Paul J. - of Clio, age 97, died Friday, January 12, 2018, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 12 PM, Monday, January 15, 2018, at the Lamb of God Fellowship Church in Montrose. Pastor Robert Koch officiating. Burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Clio. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Sunday from 1-6 PM and at the church on Monday from 11 AM until the time of the service at 12 noon. Memorial contributions may be made to Lamb of God Fellowship Church or a charity of choice.
Paul was born May 18, 1920, in Flint, Michigan to the late Archie and Bernice (Gunnell) Torrey. He graduated from Central High School in Flint. Paul was a World War II, U.S. Army veteran. He married Geraldine Simpson on June 17, 1941. She preceded him in death in 1999. Paul retired from William E. Walters Plumbing & Heating. He was a member of the Lamb of God Fellowship Church and he enjoyed bowling and golf.
Surviving are: 4 children: Linda (Ben) Hobson of Clio, Steve (Marcia) Torrey of Linden, Cindy (Mike) Clark of Clio, and Jeff (Karie) Torrey of Clio; 12 grandchildren: Tim (Amy) Hobson, Kim (Kevin) Sharp, Christopher (Heather) Clark, Nicole (Greg) Martin, Jonathan (Lisa) Clark, Jennifer (Dane) Guernsey, Kari (Zach) McCotter, Katelyn, Zack, and Zeke Torrey, Andrew and Abby Hudec; 16 great-grandchildren; Paul was also preceded in death by 2 brothers: Don and Gerald Torrey.
