ABRAHAM, Mary Jane - Age 79, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2011 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will take place at 1PM on August 11, 2011 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run, MI. Family will be receiving friends on August 10, 2011 from 12PM to 8PM.
Mary was born on December 5, 1931 in Saginaw, MI to John and Bessie (Liddicoatt) Matthes. She married Joseph Gaboror Abraham on December 20, 1947. Together they spent their years taking care of the family farm, raising their family and traveling to the cabin in the U.P. Mary was truly one of a kind. A “Yooper” at heart, she loved being at her cabin in Gould City and going to Bingo with her sister Wanda. A loving wife, Grandmother and friend. She will always be remembered for her beer and tomato juice and her “loving” nickname for Joe.
Surviving are 5 children: Leon Abraham, Larry (Karen) Abraham, Joseph Jr. (Diane) Abraham, Leroy Abraham, and Lynette (Gary) Woods; Best Friend and Sister, Wanda Howard; 23 Grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Abraham, parents John and Bessie Matthes, and 8 siblings.
