PORTER, John Franklin – of Flint, MI, age 57, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 7 PM Friday, June 9, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Todd Frusti officiating. The family will receive visitors 11 AM-1 PM and 4-7 PM Friday, June 9, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family, in John’s memory.
John was born in Youngstown, OH on February 19, 1960, son of the late John Wilber Porter and Jean Marie (Saunders) Porter Buckley. He married Susan Murphy on July 10, 1999 in Davison, MI. John was employed with Total Quality Assurance in Burton, MI.
John is survived by his wife of 18 years, Susan; 4 children, Annie (Jeff) Cronkright, Emily (Chad) Siders, Christopher Porter and Kathleen Porter; 4 grandchildren, Kaydance Porter, Addisyn Siders, Maygen Porter and Charleigh Cronkright; sister, Linda (Michael) Ueberroth; 2 sisters-in-law, Karen (Matt) Owen and Marcia Nance; 9 nieces and nephews, Greg, Jason, Kristin, Heather, April, John, Cody, Dalton and Anastasha; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, John Wilber Porter on March 19, 1967 and his mother, Jean Marie Buckley on December 25, 1995.
