Benjamin James Shimmel, age 21 of Swartz Creek, passed away December 6th, 2019. He was born in Grand Blanc, MI on November 5th, 1998. Benjamin loved working on cars and was good at it. He enjoyed long drives and frequent trips to the mall, four wheeling, shooting, barbecues and mud bogging. Benny was always joke around and playful. He will be deeply missed by many.
He leaves behind his father Thomas (Tammy) Shimmel; mother Charity (Dale) Hemenway; brothers Thomas Shimmel III, Matthew Shimmel, Michael Shimmel, and Ricky McLeish-Gonzalez; sister Shayley Sharp; also many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother Catherine Kelly-Bunning; grandfather Arnold grandmother; and grandmother Elizabeth Edgett.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 10th at 12:00 noon at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel in Lapeer. Friends may visit on Monday, December 9th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
