Judith Laurie Banfield, age 81 of Grand Blanc, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2019. She was born on August 8, 1938 to parents Vincent and Leola (Wilcox) Nyman. Judy was a graduate of MSU and Wayne State University; a literacy specialist for the State of Michigan and Carmen Ainsworth School District. She was also a lifetime member of Grand Blanc United Methodist Church and a member of Garland Street Literacy Club, and the past President of Junior League of Flint. Judy is survived by children: Carrie (Alan) Banfield-Taplin, Jennifer Banfield-Haggerty, and Daniel Banfield; grandchildren: Emily Taplin, Lily Taplin, Jessica (Branden) Reed, and Chloe Haggerty; siblings: Patricia Rockafellow and Nancy (Leo) Ruebke; brother-in-laws: Joseph (Carol) Banfield and George Becker; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; her Good Ole Girls, and many wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by both parents; husband, Robert Banfield. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Grand Blanc United Methodist Church, 515 Bush Ave., Grand Blanc. Visitation will take place on Monday, December 2, 2019 from 4-8pm at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc. The family will receive visitors again on Tuesday, one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10am at church. Interment at Maple Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make a memorial contribution to Grand Blanc United Methodist Church General Fund or Grand Blanc Special Olympics. |
