Betty June (Cramer) Andrus, went home to be with her Lord and her Husband John Eric Andrus, Sunday, April 14, 2013, at the age of 89 years at St. Mary’s of Michigan Hospital in Saginaw. She married John Eric Andrus on May 22, 1943. He predeceased her on February 27, 1998. She was born one of four children on June 20, 1923 in Detroit, daughter of the late Lee and Pauline (Aurand) Cramer. Betty attended and graduated from Reese High School and then went on to Michigan State Short course. She loved her Lord and her family and the Reese United Methodist Church family. She held offices in the Methodist Women’s group, she loved working on many activities, loved to cook and bake pies and plates of cookies. Betty’s joy was making people smile and she loved making new friends. She loved swimming, playing baseball, basketball and going on the school bus with the many school games and having the kids over to the house for cookies after the games. John and Betty had a family poultry business, taking eggs, chickens, vegetable’s and bake goods to the Flint Farmers Market and many restaurants and grocery stores. During the holidays she would take multiples of pies, loafs of bread, plates of cinnamon rolls to the Flint farmers market. Surviving are her four children and their spouses, Wesley John and Joyce Andrus of Reese, David and Chris Andrus of Port Huron, Peggy and William Satchell of Caro, Susan and David Seldon of Reese; 13 grandchildren, Michael Dillon, Robert Dillon, Nathaniel Andrus, Darrell Andrus, Sarah Pogoreski, Nicole Satchell, Paul Satchell, Kimberly Selden, Justin Selden, Hannah Palmer, Naomi Winkel, Caleb Andrus; eighteen great-grandchildren and Betty was looking forward to two more great-grandchildren in September; sister-in-law, Lorraine Cramer of Caro; several nieces and nephews and special friends. In addition to her husband and parents; one daughter Betsy Lee Dillon; one granddaughter Karen Dillon; siblings Jack (Evelyn) Cramer, Rex Cramer and Leona (Willie) Brechtelsbauer all preceded her in death. Funeral services will take place at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 19, 2013 from the Reese United Methodist Church. Pastor Jon Gougeon will officiate with burial in Denmark Township Cemetery. Betty’s family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw Street, Reese on Thursday from 4-8:30 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 12:00 noon until the time of service.
