Arthur Bender, 89, of Gladwin, Michigan, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Monday, July 1, 2019. He was born on November 28, 1929, the son of Arthur P. & Renada (Nickademus) Bender in Saginaw, Michigan. He was a veteran of the United States Army, proudly serving his country during the Korean War. On April 10, 1954, he was united in marriage to his true love Iva Cameron in Gladwin. He was employed for Compete Auto Transit in Flint for 30 years. He was also co-owner of Gladwin Equipment with his son, Timothy, from 1984-2007, until his retirement. He was a member of Teamster Local 332 of Flint. Left to cherish his memory are his sons: Kevin (Patricia) Bender of Swartz Creek & Timothy Bender of Gladwin; significant other: Becky Van Buskirk of Gladwin; 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister: Carolyn (Ron) Bellinger of Gladwin; son in-law: Jose Velasquez. He is preceded in death by his wife: Iva; daughter: Lorie Velasquez; brother: Harry Bender; sisters: Alice Shar & Elsie Prell. Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor James Krach on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, 11:00 A.M. at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Gladwin. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 8, 2019, from 6-8:00 P.M. and on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 from 12-8:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin, Michigan.
