Funeral service will be held 1PM Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Burial at Sunset Hills Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday, May 20, 2024, from 2PM until 7PM and Tuesday from 12PM until the time of service at 1PM. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Toni and Trish Hospice House – 4699 11 Mile Rd., in Auburn.
Ellouise was born in Lansing, Michigan, to Ikeie and Nelly (McMichael) Smith. She attended Beecher High School where she received her high school diploma with the class of 1944. Ellouise married Milo Palmer on November 4, 1944, and together they raised 4 children. Milo preceded her in death in 1975. She remarried to Arlington “Arlie” Smith, and he preceded her in death in 2014. Ellouise was a wonderful stay at home mother and homemaker for much of her life. She enjoyed singing in her church choir, reading, crafting, and sewing. Above all, she loved her family and receiving cards and letters from loved ones always made her day. Ellouise will be dearly missed.
Ellouise is forever remembered by her Children: Lyle (Carolyn) Palmer, Doris Palmer-Knowlton, Norman (Judy) Palmer, and Lois (Bill) Huntley; 8 Grandchildren: Monique (Adam)Coulman, Denise (Deb) Knowlton-Bartell, Christopher (Kristin) Palmer, Tonya (Dan) Havener, Timothy (Sharri) Knowlton, David (Kelly) Knowlton, Lisa Fournier, and Lori Vondeling; Great Grandchildren: Grady Bartell, Courtney Havener, Nicholas Havener, Kasey Palmer, Caden Palmer, Katelynn Ellouise Palmer, Kim Fournier, Samantha Ingram, and Drew Vondeling; Great-Great Grandchildren: Raeghan Ingram, Marleigh Ingram, and Dawson Vondeling; Many nieces, nephews, extended family, and wonderful friends. Ellouise was preceded in death by her Husbands: Milo Palmer and Arlie Smith; Parents; Siblings: Dorothy (Lawrence) Fogel, George (Sharon) Smith, Brennan (Luella) Smith, L.D.
