MORTON, Clare William - age 70, of Davison, MI died peacefully at his residence on June 16, 2018. Visitation will be 12-3 and 5-8 PM Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. Burial with Military Honors will be 9:30 AM Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Clare was born on March 23, 1948 to Clare and Ann Morton. He was a 1966 Graduate of Bentley High School. Clare served his country in the Vietnam War, and studied at Michigan State University. Clare spent his career at AC Spark Plug and Delphi.
He was preceded in death by both his mother and father and beloved mother in law, Marcia Gilbert.
Clare enjoyed woodworking and crafted many beautiful pieces of furniture for family and friends over the years. He enjoyed his home and spending time in his yard. Clare had an affinity for pocket watches that he collected and repaired over the last several years. Clare enjoyed hunting and loved spending time at family gatherings and was always ready for a party.
Clare is survived by his wife of 49 years, Roberta, and his two children, Lisa Boduch (Jeff) and Chad Morton (Amy). He was the proud grandparent of four granddaughters, Ellery and Sabrina Dougherty, and Mallory and Camryn Morton. He also loved his two step grandchildren, Nicholas and Alyson Skalecki very much. He is also survived by his twin sister, Dawn Holzer, and brother, Dean Morton. Many beloved brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews, and father in law, Robert Gilbert, will miss Clare greatly. Clare will be remembered by his easy-going personality and sense of humor. He always had a smile on his face.
