MORGAN, Carol Ruth (Garber) - of Davison, age 72, passed away on December 26, 2016 at Stonegate Health Campus from cancer. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 6 PM Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. Visitation will be 3 PM until time of service on Tuesday.

Carol was born on May 19,1944 at St. Joseph Hospital in Flint to Ellis and Ardella "Ruth" Garber. She grew up in Burton with her siblings Karen, Wayne, and Lee. First on Kettering St. and later on Adams Rd., she experienced a happy, healthy childhood, always having fun with her brothers and sister and with her cousins, who lived nearby and were as close as siblings themselves. She graduated from Bentley High School in 1962, where she first demonstrated her wonderful wit and keen intellect by being named both Class Clown and Best All-Around. Carol had many friends in high school and was loved by many--everyone realized early on that to know Carol was to love her--and in recent years had truly enjoyed reconnecting with the ladies of the Class of '62, as they regularly gathered for reunions.

Carol married John Morgan on April 21, 1963. After briefly working at Buick, Carol settled in Davison and began her true life's work, raising her sons Brad and Steve. She was an amazing mother--kind, generous, and, most of all, loving, and her boys always came first. She also had a special bond with her niece Jennifer, who was like the daughter she never had. To the many nieces and nephews of the Morgan family, she was their beloved Aunt Carol, always ready with a smile and laughter at all the big family gatherings. As much as she loved being a mother, those who knew Carol best know that she loved being a grandmother even more, as she loved nothing better than spending time with her granddaughter Kaitlyn and grandson Jacob, who brought her nothing but joy.

Of course, every life has its share of adversity, but when bad times hit, Carol was at her best. In any situation, she would always offer to help all who needed assistance, no matter what the circumstance. When Brad experienced ongoing health problems, Carol was there to provide constant comfort and encouragement. During any family crisis, Carol was the rock others clung to while they weathered the storm. Through it all, she always maintained her sense of humor and her love for life. She also truly enjoyed exercising and working out, and in recent years she joined Karen in taking Zumba classes, where the two were affectionately known as "The Twisted Sisters." She was going strong right until the end, attending her last class just before Thanksgiving. Carol also loved reading, watching her favorite television shows, dining out, and spending time with friends. She especially enjoyed the decades she spent with her dearest friend Kathy Naragon (Dan) and the whole extended Naragon family. In the years since Kathy passed away in 2002, Carol cherished the time she got to spend with Kathy's son Tracy and his husband Todd Hume, who she called "her boys" and with whom she had a special bond.

Carol was preceded in death by her father Ellis Garber, mother Ardella Garber, and brothers Wayne and Layne Garber. She is survived by her husband John Morgan; sons Bradley Morgan and Stephen Morgan; granddaughter Kaitlyn Morgan and grandson Jacob Morgan; sister Karen Ivy (Garber) and brother Lee Garber; special niece Jennifer Ivy-Rotenheber; many other nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made in Carol's name to The Arthritis Foundation.
