KLATT, Benjamin K. – of Clio, age 83, devoted husband and loving father, died Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Genesys of Grand Blanc. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11AM Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Messiah Lutheran Church. 520 Butler St. in Clio. Pastor Erik Cloeter officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church Kitchen Ministry.
Ben was born September 1, 1933 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Edward and Helen (Voss) Klatt. He resided in the Clio area his entire life. Ben married Billie Barbara Smith on June 20, 1957 in Wichita, Kansas. She preceded him in death July 23, 2008. He was the manager with IGA/Hickory Meat Market. Mr. Klatt is a U.S. Army Veteran. Ben was a charter member of Messiah Lutheran Church. He enjoyed yardwork and had a love for flowers, traveling – especially trips to Mexico, dancing and music. Ben also enjoyed attending his exercise classes and business meetings. He was a great hardworking person who was always young at heart.
Surviving are: Children: Renelle (Randy) Waites of Mt. Morris, Ronda (Ron) Dycus of Flushing, and Roderick (Michelle) Klatt of Clio; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; Sisters: Helen, Carolyn, Maxine, Geri, Barb, and Lora.
