ULANSKI, C. “Marie”. – of Clio, age 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Stonegate of Lapeer. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30AM Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at SS. Charles and Helena Catholic Church – 230 E. Vienna St., in Clio. Rev. Fr. Kenneth Coughlin officiating. Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Flint. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Tuesday from 2PM until 8PM and at the church on Wednesday from 9:30AM until the time of Mass at 10:30AM. A Rosary will be prayed at 7PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to SS. Charles and Helena Catholic Church.
Marie was born September 15, 1924 in Flint, Michigan to the late John and Mary “Mayme” (Bonner) Hazel. She graduated from St. Michael’s Catholic School in 1943. Marie married Walter J. Ulanski on October 30, 1954. He preceded her in death on September 11, 1992. She retired from General Motors – AC with 37 years seniority and was a member of the UAW Local #651. Marie was also a very involved member of SS. Charles and Helena Catholic Church, the Red Hat Society, and the Polish Legion of American Veterans Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed bowling with her 2 leagues. Marie also enjoyed crafting, and playing cards - especially Skip-Bo. Marie will be greatly missed.
Surviving are: Daughter, Linda Ulanski; Stepdaughter, Nancy Hamilla; Grandson, Randy Balcer; Great grandson, Preston Balcer; Brothers: John (Maryann) Hazel, and Joseph (Vicki) Hazel; Stepsister, Dorothy Bowler; Sister in law, Maryann Zawislak; Brother in law, Art Ulanski; Loving niece, Diane Moore; Nephew, Mike Reynolds; Many other loving nieces, nephews, family members and dear friends. Marie was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the caregivers at Stonegate in Lapeer for all their love and care.
