NORTON, Mr. Donald William “Bill” - Age 47, was called to be with the Lord on Friday, October 19, 2012 at his residence, with loved ones close by. Family hour 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 29, 2012 at House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church, 1851 W. Carpenter Rd. with funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Kenneth L. Stewart officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 10:00 a.m. Monday. Mr. Norton will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Sunday.
Donald was born August 8, 1967 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Donald and Luereather Norton. “Bill” attended Flint Public Schools, graduating from Flint Northern High School. He was employed at Perry’s Printing for 18 years until they relocated. He was also employed at Wal-Mart for several years, until his health prevented him from continuing to work. He enjoyed spending time with his buddies along with golfing.
He leaves to cherish his memory: one son, Donald William Norton II; father Donald Norton; sister, Patricia Pitts; one niece, Chante` Pitts; two aunts, Emma Williams and Otis Stean Pitts; one uncle, Robert (Helen) Williams; special cousins, Kayla, Greg and Tony; god-sister, Cathy Edwards; a host of other relatives and friends including, Jessie, Roy, James, Paul, Dorman, Loyd, Lonnie, Fred, rick, Terry and Dexter.
Mr. Norton was preceded in death by his mother Luereather Norton; grandmother, Ruth Kelley; aunt, Bertha Davis and uncle, Johnnie Williams.
The family would like to express special thanks to the Fresenius Medical Center.
